Why Proof-of-Personhood?
On the internet, anonymity is prevalent, allowing anyone to create multiple accounts without verifying their humanity. Some platforms, such as banks, require proof of identity through government-issued IDs. Others only seek anonymous confirmation of being human, often through CAPTCHAs. In the web3 space, we aim to enhance this experience. With nearly 2 billion paperless individuals worldwide lacking access to essential services like banking, insurance, and elections, we developed I-AM-HUMAN. It serves as a proof-of-personhood on NEAR, enabling users to vote in the Near Digital Collective (NDC) general elections. Additionally, it empowers the ecosystem to create remarkable features that are typically challenging to implement on a global scale.

Voting and Polling
Initial implementation focuses on polling, followed by formal voting on proposals to elect representatives in the first NDC congress. Think about I-AM-HUMAN as a form of voter registration that identifies you as a human in the upcoming ecosystem voting.
Fair Airdrops and Product Launches
I-AM-HUMAN ensures fair distribution of products and airdrops by implementing a one-person-one-drop policy. How does I-AM-HUMAN work?
I-AM-HUMAN implements a comprehensive verification process to establish your unique human identity. This process involves breaking down the concept of "humanity" into various components, which are certified separately. Each certification is represented as a Soul Bound Token (SBT) that is minted on-chain. With each verification, you acquire a new SBT, gaining access to voting in the Near Digital Collective (NDC).
The initial set of verifications includes:
Face Verification: Through our partnership with Fractal, a trusted identity verification solution used by the NEAR Foundation, we employ advanced facial recognition technology. Fractal securely stores a computed "hash" of your face, ensuring its uniqueness compared to other verified faces. If desired, you have the option to remove your profile from Fractal by contacting them directly or using our submission form for the right to be forgotten.
No-Knowledge KYC: To certify that you have completed the KYC (Know Your Customer) process, your government-issued ID is securely verified by a document verification service. I-AM-HUMAN does not have access to your personal data but only receives the confirmation that you have successfully undergone KYC.
Community Verification: In our initial community verification approach, we either meet you in person at conferences or verify your Telegram account when you apply through our website. These manual verification methods validate your active involvement in the community.
OG Verification: For early adopters in the ecosystem, we offer OG SBTs, which recognize and reward their contributions.
Through this robust verification system, I-AM-HUMAN ensures the integrity of your human identity and provides opportunities for participation in the NDC and the broader ecosystem.
As an open and public protocol, I-AM-HUMAN allows you to maintain one I-AM-HUMAN status. All other websites, apps, DAOs and other protocols on NEAR will be able to leverage this proof-of-humanity.
